We are currently seeking a Social Media Volunteer/Intern in the Oklahoma City area for the Spring 2016 storm chase season. The ideal candidate would be social media savvy, able to inform our audience about current weather events, and who would be available for social media posting many afternoons and evenings during the Spring Storm Season.

This isn’t a full-time job and we certainly don’t expect you to be available as if it were one (more like an internship), but we’d like to up our game and help inform our audience even better during severe weather events during the upcoming severe weather season.

Ideally we are looking for someone who is dependable, very much easy going (we all are for the record), and who wants to contribute to a pretty fun but oftentimes serious mission.

Duties include:
-Knowledge of social media platforms, especially Facebook and Twitter.
-Ability to gather and disseminate information both independently and as requested.
-Some working knowledge of severe weather events.
-Ability to curate information from various sources to deliver the best content to our audience.
-Desire and judgement to deliver high quality content.
-Attend Weekly Editorial Meetings either in person or by video conference.

Locations
-Most duties will be home-based.
-There will be some opportunity to join our teams in the field.

Duration
-Approximately Late March to Late June
-This position could require a significant time committment on some chase days, other days may only require a few minutes at most. Ideally you would be glued to your computer screen watching the weather anyways and/or in the field experiencing the event first hand.

Requirements
-An electronic device capable of posting both images and videos to Facebook and Twitter.
-Must live in the OKC Metro Area. No out of town applicants will be considered.
