We could probably make a pretty awesome compilation video of our tornado and supercell intercepts near Sulphur, Oklahoma. However, despite all of that this was probably the biggest/baddest tornado we’ve encountered in this land of the Arbuckles. This wedge was rated as an EF-3, but radar close to the tornado indicated that had the tornado hit structures at the peak of its intensity, it was likely a violent tornado in the EF4/EF5 range.
The April 14, 2011 Storm Chase was an incredible day. Here’s a collection of clips that capture the first couple of hours of the chase day with the initial supercell development before we ended up intercepting an EF3 Tornado near Tushka, OK.
